You are getting so big! I can hardly believe you are already 6 months old. In some ways, I can imagine what life was like before you were born and in others it seems like you were just born yesterday. Your dad and I are just having the best time with you. We both agree that we are the happiest when you are smiling, especially at one of us. There is nothing better than hearing your laugh, that deep belly laugh you do when you see one of us. It just melts my heart! We have learned that you really like to stick to your eating and sleeping schedule and if we deviate from that plan it makes for a very fussy day. We have also learned that letting you cry in the middle of the night isn't horrible parenting, it is good for you to "self soothe". You typically fall right back to sleep within a few minutes thankfully!
Here are some things you have learned lately...
*You are really sitting up by yourself now. We still stay close by because you can fall over at any second but you are doing really great by yourself. We sat you up in the bathtub yesterday and you had so much fun playing with your little duck. I need to get some more bath toys for you!
*You have learned to put your pacifier in your mouth all by yourself! We have started putting about 5 pacifiers in the bed with you at night so you can always find one to soothe yourself back to sleep.
*You have started answering to your name! Your dad and I are constantly saying your name and you will turn your head to whoever says it. You are so smart!
*You like to pick things up and slam them back down. Especially when you are in your highchair. You especially love to pick things up and throw them on the floor in this scenario.
*You have realized that you love sleeping on your stomach. I almost fainted when I saw you on the monitor like this but everyone says it is just fine.
*You have learned that you can roll to get from point A to point B. Gosh we are going to be in trouble when you start crawling!
*We have taken the car seat out of the stroller and put you in facing
forward during our walks. You love looking at all of the people we pass
by and sometimes I can hear you squeal in the delight because you are
having so much fun!
Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks. We love you!!!
