First Easter

Last weekend we went to Gran and TC's house for Easter! You were so good! We went up on Saturday and you got to meet a lot of their friends. Everyone was so excited to finally meet you! We were a little nervous because it was your first time sleeping away from home but you did great and slept through the night! Unfortunately I did not because the crib was in our room and turns out you make lots of noises while you are sleeping.

We went to church at 8:30 and you really just slept during the whole service. I'm so glad we were able to take you to your first church service and you were so good in the process. Gran had a big Easter basket waiting for you when we got home. You are a lucky little girl!

Kate is 2 months old!

Well, I can hardly believe that you have been with us for two months now! You are getting so big and really starting to have a personality. You have been doing a lot of "cooing" and smiling which completely melts my heart. You are the happiest in the morning but you are doing better about not being so fussy at night. I think your tummy starts to hurt with gas at night so you just don't know what else to do. Here are some of your accomplishments:

*You have been sleeping through the night!!! Whohoo! Or at least you have been the last week. You've been giving us great 7 hour stretches and last night you slept 8 hours! I woke up at 6:15 worried about you but you were soundly snoozing in your crib.

*You love looking at the mobile on your swing. There is a mirror on the bottom and I think you love seeing yourself like you do on your changing table mirror.

*You have been getting in bed with me in the mornings and snuggling! It is so much fun.

*You have been eating more. We have been supplementing formula and you can't get enough food!

You had your 8 week appointment this week at the doctor. He said you looked perfect! You had to have 3 shots unfortunately. I was so worried about you but you handled it like a champ! You only cried for a minute.

Thank you for being such a joy! Can't wait to see what the next month will bring.

Kate's Photo Shoot

A family friend of the Cassetty's came last week and took tons of photos of you! You were so good for him and your showed off that winning smile and you even did some posing for us! We will do some more photos of you at 3 months but these turned out great! You are changing so fast!!

Six Week Peak

So, everything I read has said that at six weeks your baby will reach the peak of her fussiness. You were six weeks last Tuesday. You have been a little fussy this week, but hopefully this just means we are on the down hill side of things. You have really been such a joy the majority of the time. You have started smiling, which totally melts my heart and you have been making lots of cooing noises. I love putting you in your crib in the morning and watching you talk to yourself and move your arms and legs all around. You are so cute! Oh and the biggest news is that you slept through the night last night!! I put you down at 10:30 and you didn't wake up until 5:00 a.m!!! I am so proud of you!! Of course I still didn't sleep much because I was up every hour checking to make sure you were okay, but hopefully this is the start of a new trend. That would be so wonderful!! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.

Lots of Love,
Mommy

Love and Kisses

Dear Kate,
As I write this you are crying and your dad is asking why his love and kisses can't stop you from crying. You have been crying a lot! The doctor says you are just a "reactive baby" who responds to all of your surroundings. You dad is boucing you and making you dance the conga write now to hold off your crying until I can finish this post. I think you are getting better though, or maybe we are just figuring out better ways to soothe you. We are really loving having you, crying and all! You dad cried for 3 months straight and his parents said that is why he is an only child! Hopefully you won't do that to us too!
In other news, your Gran has been coming a couple times a week to visit you and let me get out of the house to run errands. You are so good for her and she doesn't believe me that you like to cry. Your Grandaddy or "Poppy" (Bill) has been coming on the weekends too to visit you since Grandmommy is in Florida. We went to dinner with him on Saturday night to a restaurant and you were so good until Mommy insisted we take you out of your car seat to show of your pretty dress. You got so many compliments but soon after cried and cried until we had to leave the restaurant. You dad says we will never do that again, haha.
You are such a blessing to us and we love you so much, even if you like to cry! Stay tuned for more fun milestones. Mommy has a full week planned for you!

Lunch with Ava and Anna Noelle!

Last week Kate and I went to lunch with my good friends Amy and Jaclyn and their two precious girls Ava and Anna Noelle. Amy, Jaclyn and I were all pregnant together and we got together frequently to talk about our pregnancies and just to catch up. It was so fun to get together with our babies, we are so fortunate that they are all here and healthy! We went to the restaurant in Nordstrom's and little Kate had her first experience shopping with mommy. There will be many more of those experiences I'm sure. I had so much fun dressing her up in a new dress my old neighbor in Paducah Jenny Young had given her along with a sweet little bonnet. Todd thought the bonnet was a little much but I couldn't resist. We are looking forward to more fun lunches with these girls in the near future!

Kate is 1 month old!!

Dear Kate,

I can hardly believe that you are already 1 month old! You are such a blessing to your dad and me. We love to look at you and play with your little hands and feet. I can really tell you have grown over the past month and the dr. confirms that you are gaining weight perfectly. You are testing our patience at night between 8 and 11 pm with your crying, but when you calm down and look at us with those big blue eyes we can't help but forgive you. We have found that everyday gets a little easier and we are starting to get into a little big of groove with you. You dad and I of course think you are the cutest and smartest little newborn ever. Here are some of your accomplishments over the last month:

  • You are trying to hold you paci in your mouth to keep it from falling out.
  • You love looking at the birds on your mobile
  • You love your bouncy seat that Gran gave you, although you really don't like your swing right now.
  • You are starting to smile at us (we really think you are smiling and not just having gas!)
  • You love to look at yourself in the mirror while we are changing your diaper.
Can't wait to see what you will do next. I love you so much little one!!
