Paducah for a week!

We set out last Sunday to visit mom and dad in Paducah for almost a whole week! I timed our driving to be in between feedings so it wouldn't be hard on you. You were so good! You slept the entire time! Todd and I packed the car with all of your fun things (swing, bouncy seat, play gym or as Poppy calls it "your jungle") It was so fun bringing you to Paducah and to the house where I grew up. Mom had your crib all set up in my old room and it looked so cute! I was a little nervous that you would have a hard time sleeping in a new place but you slept every night!  You were really so good the entire time. We put you in your bouncy seat during dinner every night and put you in the middle of the table. You were the cutest little centerpiece! We did lots of fun things during our visit. We visited Poppy at City Hall, you are after all the First Granddaughter of Paducah. We took you out to lunch and dinner to fun places and mom had a Sip and See Party for you! Your very first party! I think you got a little overwhelmed with all of the people trying to talk to you but you eventually just feel asleep in my arms. It was pretty cute! I put you in an adorable pink dress and you just looked perfect!

It was fun to see my parents with you. I think you have won all of our hearts! Mom tried to teach you how to kiss but I think that was a little hard for you. You have definitely mastered the trick of sticking out your tongue though! The biggest news is that you almost turned over for us!! You just have to get your arm out of the way and you are there! I think that will happen very soon. You are so smart!

We had just the best time but I think your daddy really missed us. He told me that he would just go in your room and sit in your chair because he missed you so much. Maybe next time daddy can come with us!

New Accomplishments!

So your dad and I can hardly believe that you are already 10 weeks old! You are getting so big and you are starting to grow out of some of your clothes. You are smaller than some of your friends so I have been really trying to feed you a lot. Considering your dad and I are both pretty small I bet you will be too. Your Aunt Barbaranelle was visiting last weekend and you were so good for her! She was so sweet to come see you and we had the best time! Aunt Megan and Uncle Hank came by to visit and Aunt Megan suggested we pull out the Bumbo seat. We put you in it and you were a pro! You looked so cute and so grown up sitting in it all by yourself. You are also trying to hold your bottle while we give it to you! I think you are going to be a very independent strong woman one day! My mom told Todd the other day that I never held my bottle, even when I was old enough to do it on my own.

We leave tomorrow for Paducah to visit your grandparents so I really hope you are as sweet and good as I know you can be. We will be there for a week so stay tuned for lots of pictures!!

First Nights Out!

Your wonderful Aunt Megan stayed with you last Thursday while your daddy's big premier of his documentary "5 Days in Denver" was showing at the Nashville Film Festival. I was a little nervous leaving you for so long but you did really really great! I guess it wasn't technically our first night away, when you were about a month old Poppy, Uncle Hank and Aunt Megan stayed with you while your daddy and I went to dinner but this time was for much longer. Aunt Megan was so sweet to offer to stay with your for this big occasion. She said you cried for about 45 minutes but then you went to bed and you slept all night.

THEN, your daddy took me the next night out to a fancy dinner at the Capital Grille and your Grandmommy (Not sure if that will be her name or not) and Poppy stayed with you! They took you to the Hill Center and strolled you all around. They were so proud to show you off to everyone! They ate dinner at California Pizza Kitchen with you and they said you were so good! I think you cried when they got home for about 30 minutes but you took your last bottle and went straight to sleep in your crib. I think you were exhuasted!! I was sad to leave you two nights in a row but so glad to know you did so well both nights.

We leave tomorrow for Paducah!! I can hardly wait to show you off to all of Paducah. You are the First Grandaugher of Paducah so everyone will want to see you :) More pictures to come soon!!

First Easter

Last weekend we went to Gran and TC's house for Easter! You were so good! We went up on Saturday and you got to meet a lot of their friends. Everyone was so excited to finally meet you! We were a little nervous because it was your first time sleeping away from home but you did great and slept through the night! Unfortunately I did not because the crib was in our room and turns out you make lots of noises while you are sleeping.

We went to church at 8:30 and you really just slept during the whole service. I'm so glad we were able to take you to your first church service and you were so good in the process. Gran had a big Easter basket waiting for you when we got home. You are a lucky little girl!

Kate is 2 months old!

Well, I can hardly believe that you have been with us for two months now! You are getting so big and really starting to have a personality. You have been doing a lot of "cooing" and smiling which completely melts my heart. You are the happiest in the morning but you are doing better about not being so fussy at night. I think your tummy starts to hurt with gas at night so you just don't know what else to do. Here are some of your accomplishments:

*You have been sleeping through the night!!! Whohoo! Or at least you have been the last week. You've been giving us great 7 hour stretches and last night you slept 8 hours! I woke up at 6:15 worried about you but you were soundly snoozing in your crib.

*You love looking at the mobile on your swing. There is a mirror on the bottom and I think you love seeing yourself like you do on your changing table mirror.

*You have been getting in bed with me in the mornings and snuggling! It is so much fun.

*You have been eating more. We have been supplementing formula and you can't get enough food!

You had your 8 week appointment this week at the doctor. He said you looked perfect! You had to have 3 shots unfortunately. I was so worried about you but you handled it like a champ! You only cried for a minute.

Thank you for being such a joy! Can't wait to see what the next month will bring.
