Changes at Eight Months

You just turned 8 months old and I can hardly believe it! You are such a big girl and you have so much personality and ENERGY! You talk all the time and laugh at mommy and daddy. I feel like when you turned 8 months so much has changed! We had to lower the mattress in your crib because you were able to pull up on the railings, we cut out one of your bottles and started giving you more solid food, and you are crawling all over the house! You are so determined, it is so fun to watch you try to do something once you have your mind set. You are also able to sit up all by yourself from a laying down position. It is common for me to look at the monitor and you are just sitting up in your bed looking around. I was holding you the other day and looking at you in the mirror, you have gotton so big! It is going to be sad when you are not a baby any more but I can hardly wait to see you grow up. It is going to be interesting that is for sure!

BBQ on the River and Clarksville Lunch!

Last weekend we took you to the annual BBQ on the River in Paducah. We had so much fun strolling you around and letting you see all of the people there. Some of Mommy's best friends were there also so we had the best time playing with them and their adorable children. You love being around other kids! It is so fun to watch you. Daddy was a judge in the "whole hog" competition so he was there all morning on Saturday. We really had the best weekend!

On Sunday we drove through Clarksville and had a wonderful lunch with Gran, TC and Misty. You had so much fun with their two dogs (we are going to have to get you a dog asap!). You played on the floor and then you sat at the table like a big girl in your new highchair seat Gran bought you. We all got home and went to sleep, it was so fun but we were all exhausted by the end!

Nanny out of town, Grandparents to the Rescue!

Last week your wonderful nanny Jen went on vacation so we needed to figure out care for you while I was at work. Your Gran and TC came in on Monday and Tuesday, then Fairy and Poppy watched you on Wednesday. You were so good for everyone! I had a very specific schedule layed out for everyone and apparently you were a perfect angel. You daddy and Fairy both caught colds so Poppy really did a lot on Wednesday by himself. I am so thankful that you can adapt to new circumstances! And I am even more thankful that we have your AMAZING grandparents who are willing to come help be with you anytime! Wow!!!

Paducah Trip and new things...

Where do I begin...I hate that it has been so long since my last post. I need to really stay on top of it because things are changing with you everyday! Let’s see, we went to Paducah to see Fairy and Poppy. I was a little nervous because the last time I took you home you were fussy the whole time and I was exhausted by the end! You were a perfect angel though on this trip! You took your naps like a champ and you had fun going out to dinner with us. You love looking at older children, it is almost as if you are studying them so you can do what they do! When we ate at home, Fairy pulled out her antique wooden high chair, and we used a scarf to tie you in. You played with your toys and loved every minute of it! Aunt Megan came to Paducah on Saturday morning and you LOVED playing with her. You smile so big when you see her! Poppy babysat you while the girls went to a party. You did great for him but poor Poppy was so nervous after he put you to bed he checked on you at least 3 times to make sure you were still breathing!

You are doing so well and you are so alert and aware of everything! You love going outside and going to new  places just so you can look around with your big blue eyes. Everywhere we go someone comments on those big blue eyes :) You love going to the grocery with me and smiling at everyone that walks by. It’s pretty cute, except when mommy is in a hurry! I think you have sort of figured out how to wave at people. We will go in the bathroom and you will wave at yourself in the mirror, so cute!

Hank’s birthday was last week and Fairy and Poppy came to Nashville to help celebrate. I must say you were pretty fussy, but luckily everyone helped keep you distracted until we were finished with dinner.

Your nanny Jen is on vacation this week so Gran has come to Nashville to be with you. She is so great and loves you so much. She told me that she would come anytime we needed her to see you because you are her only grandchild and she loves you more than anything. You’ve got it pretty good my love.
