I Love Music and Rolling!

It is so funny to me how much you love music. You are just like your daddy! For some reason, I have found that when I sing "Lean on Me" really loud you stop crying. I am not a very good singer so I typically do this when I am alone in the house with you. No other song seems to work as well! I don't know the words very well, so I have resorted to making them up as we go. It's quite humorous! You also love when we put you in your doorway jumper with a musical mat underneath you. You jump up and down over and over again and get to make fun music in the process. You are are in heaven!
The musical mat isn't shown in this picture but you can get the idea.

You have also started really rolling around! I think you are starting to figure out that you can get to places by rolling there. I was drinking coffee last weekend and watching the news and before I knew it you were half way across the room. I am really going to have to start watching you like a hawk! What's it going to be like when you really start crawling? I think I might be in trouble...
Too cute not to share!

Baptism Weekend

What a wonderful weekend we had celebrating your baptism little one! You are so special to our family that people from all over the country came in town to see you be baptized. We had the festivities in Paducah at Fairy and Poppy's house and you were baptized in the same church and by the same priest as mommy! BeBe, Uncle Billy, Aunt Barbaranelle, Chris, Caroline, Elizabeth, Aunt Liz, Caroline, Gretchen, Russ, Gran, T.C., Poppy, Fairy and Mommy and Daddy were all there to celebrate with you. You did so well all weekend and you had lots of people doting on you and keeping you laughing and smiling. You cried only a little bit during the church service but then you promptly fell asleep. Thank you for being such a delight all weekend!!!

Poppy the Great!

This post is dedicated to your wonderful and amazing Poppy! I believe he might be the only one reading this blog so it is only fitting that we give him a big shout out. He is the best Dad in the whole world to me and I know he will be the best grandfather to you too! You are such a lucky little girl to have 4 grandparents that love you so much and would do anything in the world for you. I know everyone is looking forward to seeing you in Paducah this weekend for your baptism. Stay tuned for updates from the weekend next week!

Hand Holding and Sleep Updates

You have always loved holding our hands but lately you will not even think about going to sleep without them! When we put you down to sleep you immediately grab our hands as if to say "I'm sleepy but don't leave me!" Your dad and I have to wait until you have gone to sleep and then slowly pull our hands out from under yours without waking you up. You really aren't much of a napper because you don't want to miss anything! You want us to be right there playing with you. While this is very endearing, you do need your sleep and so do Mommy and Daddy!

Your Grandmommy has always said that I needed to put a fresh egg in one of your socks and nail it above your bedroom door and this will help you sleep through the night. Supposedly, when you are teething it will cut the pain in half. I thought this sounded crazy at first, but last Friday I figured I would give it a shot. You slept until 7:30 a.m.! I couldn't believe it! We also gave you a big container of apple sauce which you LOVED so that could have helped you sleep also. Whatever it was, your dad and I have enjoyed a few restful nights. When you wake up in the morning early, I must admit I love putting you in our bed and cuddling with you until I have to get up. Just wait until at least 5:00 am okay?
I love apple sauce!
This was you at 5:00 this morning
